The National Council for Solidarity Economy (CNES) has been established in Brasilia to foster the strengthening of solidarity economy in Brazil. The proposal of this council was first proposed in 2003, as part of the National Secretariat for Solidarity Economy (SENAES). Now the proposal has come true.

With the participation of representatives of different levels of government (federal, state-level, municipal) and, mainly, from the production and service sectors, the Council was established on 9 November 2006. Through conferences convened in every state and through the National Conference of Solidarity Economy which took place in June 2006 in Brasilia, ANTEAG CICOPA member could be part of the process of constitution of the Council.

Anteag, as an entity of representation of workers and enterprises characterised by self-management and solidarity economy is represented within the council by its vice president, Arnaldo Liberato da Silva.
