Representatives from "1318 Happy Zone”, a South Korean network of after-school programme centers, visited the cooperative Tachibana Children's Hall, established in 2006 and located in Tokyo, in order to share and learn from their experiences.
Since 2010, members from the Japan Workers Cooperative Union (JWCU) have developed contacts with this South Korean partner to learn about lifelong education and youth support programs. Tachibana Children’s Hall, where 25 people work, provides support for young people aged between 0-18 such as various classes for ba-bies and their parents, holding sports events and organizing several activities for junior and high school students.
In turn, “1318 Happy Zone” is a nationwide network of centers established in 2006 in South Korea to provide support for youths in the sectors of education, culture, employment and health. Thirty-five after-school programmme centers participate in this network. It is operated by the Corporation Leftovers Love Sharing Community in cooperation with the South Korean government and SK company.
