MONDRAGON, selected as one of the 10 European Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises in 2009

The Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) is a research program seeks to identify those organizations which are out-performing their peers by above average growth in intellectual capital and wealth creation. MONDRAGON has been recognised as one of the 10 European Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises, in the ninth edition of the MAKE report.

The report has been drawn up by Teleos, an independent firm engaged in research into the management of knowledge and intellectual capital and by Know Network, which is a global WEB community of organisations engaged in the study and sharing of knowledge practices that promote quality results.

The Mondragon Group was founded in 1956 and is considered one of the most successful examples of a worker-owned enterprise in the world. The MONDRAGON Corporation is divided into four main areas: Finance, Industry, Retail and Knowledge and is today the top Basque business group and the seventh biggest in Spain. It has a turnover of €15,584m and employs 92.773 persons among whom 83€% of the workers are members.

This is the second time that Mondragon has been recognized as a European MAKE Winner.
