Melsa COOP, Bulgaria

Melsa COOP is a cooperative hotel complex located in the center of Nessebar, a Bulgarian town which has been named as a Museum Town and an architectural reserve of national importance, included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. The hotel employs 40 people. The Central Cooperative Union (CCU) of Bulgaria owns this hotel and four other – three at the Black Sea Coast, one is a hotel located in the mountains and an urban hotel for congress tourism. According to the CCU, it is becoming “a tradition every year to organise study visits for representatives of European national cooperative organisations. This is an opportunity to exchange experience, good practices and to get a deeper knowledge of local cooperatives”.
