The North American daily newspaper The New York Times has published a thorough article on business transfer to employees. It deeply analyses the story of the Editoriale Zanardi, an artisanal printing company located in Northern Italy and transformed into a worker cooperative in 2014. The news reflects how cooperatives can save jobs and know-how, showing the resilience of those enterprises in Europe.
It also mentions the latest workers’ buyouts in Spain and France together with CECOP’s experience in this field based on the study “Business Transfers to Employees under the Form of a Cooperative in Europe”, published in June 2013.
The support given by Coopfond is also revealed and Aldo Soldi, its general director, was interviewed in the framework of the article. Mr Soldi will participate in the session « Worker cooperatives: a big opportunity for new jobs », organised by the Croatian Center for cooperative entrepreneurship with the collaboration of CECOP at the Croatian parliament in May.
