CICOPA welcomes three new members

During its Annual General Assembly, CICOPA was pleased to welcome three new organisations into its membership, further strengthening the global network of worker and social cooperatives.

Genç İşi Kooperatif (Youth Deal Cooperative), Türkiye

Founded in 2015 in İzmir, Genç İşi Kooperatif is a worker-owned cooperative promoting decent work and social inclusion for young people, women, refugees and other disadvantaged groups. Through projects, training programmes and digital tools, it has supported thousands of people and contributed to the development of the Social and Solidarity Economy in Türkiye and beyond.

Kalandia Camp Women’s Handicraft Cooperative (KCWHC), Palestine

Established in 1956, KCWHC is one of Palestine’s oldest women’s cooperatives and the first founded in a Palestinian refugee camp. The cooperative creates employment opportunities for women through embroidery, tailoring and handicrafts, supporting hundreds of women across camps, villages and towns while preserving traditional skills and promoting economic empowerment.

Office of Development and Cooperation (ODCO), Morocco

ODCO is Morocco’s public institution dedicated to promoting and supporting the cooperative sector. Through training, legal assistance, information services and technical support, it plays a central role in strengthening cooperatives nationwide and advancing the development of a dynamic and sustainable cooperative ecosystem. Today, it supports a sector that includes approximately 19,000 cooperatives active in industry and services.

The three new members join CICOPA to strengthen international cooperation, exchange knowledge and experiences, and contribute to the development of worker and social cooperatives at the global level.

With these new additions, CICOPA now brings together 53 member organisations across 37 countries.
