Care services cooperatives launched a web page and videos to prevent occupational risks

The Spanish confederation of worker cooperative (COCETA) presented the final results of the European project for health and security for care workers WBTTH&S (Web Based Training Tools for Health and Safety). “More than 700 cooperatives are part of the care sector”, declared Juan Antonio Pedreño, president of COCETA. “It is a training tool for care services, so that day after day the people working in that sector can be protected, like in many other labor activities, and that the norm be applied to the fullest.

The results can be found on the web page https://www.coceta.coop/hswbtt-web-based-training-tools.asp, alongside a series of 7 educative videos created by professional actors, and that aim to show the possible risky situations –and the solutions- with a touch of humor. The videos will be used for classes on occupational hazards for people working in the care services; at home or in specialized residences. The videos and the web page are available in English and in the five languages of the participating countries.

Manuela Rodríguez, president of the cooperative TOSANDE and owner of the retirement home Los Balcones has shared her experience and says that the videos have been received very well among her cooperative, at that same moment, in several European countries the videos were being tested to prove their usefulness.

The five countries that have participated in the project are Portugal, ANJAF and APSHSTDC, Bulgaria, Balkanplan, Romania, GIE, Italy, Oltremodo and Spain, COCETA; the Spanish worker cooperative confederation was the coordinator of this project.
